What Are the Functions of the HiGig Interface on the ETHB Board?

The HiGig interface provides a communication channel for two adjacent ETHB boards to implement binding of two adjacent ETHB boards. Two adjacent ETHB boards can implement load sharing and redundant protection only after they are bound together.

Because MABA, MABC.VER A, MABH.VER B, and MABV.VER B backplanes do not provide the HiGig interface, the ETHB board provides such an interface on the front panel. The HiGig interfaces of two ETHB boards are connected by using an external mini SAS high-speed cable. In this way, the two ETHB boards can communicate with each other. To set two ETHB boards to be in a protect group or to implement load sharing between two ETHB boards, connect their HiGig interfaces.

The MABC.VER B and MABH.VER C backplanes provide the HiGig interface. Therefore, two adjacent ETHB boards on Huawei MA5603T can communicate with each other through the backplane directly and they can implement binding without external mini SAS high-speed cables.

How to Display IGMP Messages on Huawei MA5600T

When the multicast duplication point is on Huawei MA5600T, how to display the IGMP messages exchanged between the MA5600T and the upper-layer device and between the MA5600T and IGMP users?

EPBA board:
  • To display the messages, do as follows:
    huawei#terminal debugging
% Current terminal debugging is on
    huawei#terminal monitor
% Current terminal monitor is on
    huawei(config)#debugging igmp all

  • To cancel the function of displaying the messages, do as follows:
    huawei#undo terminal debugging
    huawei#undo terminal monitor
    huawei#undo debugging igmp
Boards other than the EPBA board:
  • The messages can be displayed only based on the index of the IGMP service port. To display the messages, do as follows:
    huawei#terminal debugging
% Current terminal debugging is on
    huawei#terminal monitor
% Current terminal monitor is on
    huawei(config)#debugging igmp service-port 68

  • To cancel the function of displaying the messages, do as follows:
    huawei#undo terminal debugging
    huawei#undo terminal monitor
    huawei#undo debugging igmp
  • The preceding methods apply to V800R006C02 and V800R008.
  • After the function of displaying IGMP messages is enabled, the device performance may be affected. Therefore, disable this function when it is not used.

What is the Differences Between VDSL2 Service Boards?

Based on the number of supported users, VDSL2 service boards supported by the MA5616 can be classified into 16-channel VDSL2 service board, 24-channel VDSL2 service board, 32-channel VDSL2 service board, 48-channel VDSL2 service board, and 64-channel VDSL2 service board. These boards support VDSL2 and VDSL2 over POTS/ISDN access services.
The following tables list differences between VDSL2 service boards supported by Huawei MA5616.

  • [1]: When AC power supply is used, the H83BVDMM board must work with the H831PAIC power board.
  • [2]: Users can switch a configuration mode. To do so, log in to Huawei MA5616 as a super user and run the switch vdsl mode to command in diagnose mode. The default configuration mode is TR129. Considering the development trend, TR165 is recommended because it is more flexible than others.
  • Vectoring-supported service boards take effect only when they work with power boards supporting vectoring
