How to Connect the PC when do Huawi OSN 3500 Commissioning?

The per-NE commissioning is performed by using the U2000 on a PC. This section describes how to connect the PC to the equipment properly. Make sure that the connection between the PC and the equipment is correct during the commissioning.

Prerequisites

The Windows operating system must have been installed on the PC for commissioning.

Tools, Equipment, and Materials

None.

Procedure

  1. Make sure that the network cable is a straight-through cable. For details about the straight-through cable, see Straight-Through Cable in Hardware Description.
     NOTE:
If a self-adaptive network adapter is installed on the PC, a cross-over cable can also be used.
For details of the cross-over cable, see Crossover Cable in Hardware Description.
  2. Connect the PC to Huawei OptiX OSN equipment, as shown in Figure 1.
Figure 1 Connection between the PC and the OptiX OSN equipment
     NOTE:
In this example, the connection between the OptiX OSN 3500 and a PC is used as an example. The method of connecting other types of equipment to a PC is the same as that of connecting Huawei OptiX OSN 3500 to a PC, except that the auxiliary boards and their slot IDs are different. For the auxiliary boards and their slot IDs on the other types of equipment, see the Hardware Description of the corresponding equipment.
  3. Power on the PC. Check the ETH port indicators of the PC and the auxiliary board. Normally, the LINK indicator is steady green, and the ACT indicator flashes orange.

     NOTE:
In the case of a network that has only one gateway NE, the gateway NE is connected to the NMS through the ETH port, and the other NEs are connected to the gateway NE through the optical fibers.
  4. Power on the PC. The Microsoft Windows starts automatically and the login window is displayed.
  5. Log in with an administrator account.
  6. Click OK to display the desktop of the Windows operating system.
